We stayed at the Pompano Beach Club with our 2-year old in 2010, and we had a lovely time. It is a low key, family friendly atmosphere, and it reminded me of nothing so much as the place we used to stay on Cape Cod when I was a kid. It somehow has a New England feel to it, IMO.


However, it is nothing like a Fairmont property, and if that is what the OP is looking for, she will be disappointed.

I agree with this. We stayed at the Hamilton location and loved being able to walk to shops and restaurants. The pools were just fine for us. We took the ferry to the Southhampton property for a day.

We've been to Bermuda several times but haven't stayed at a Fairmont b/c we only heard negative comments about them. The Fairmont in Hamilton is not a beach resort type place at all. It's in town and there's not a ton to do in town. I've heard the Southampton one is not actually on the beach, you have to take a shuttle. I've also heard it's overcrowded and not very nice.

I second the recommendation for Elbow Beach.

We stayed at the Fairmont Southhampton (beach). I felt like it was an overpriced Holiday Inn. Small pool for the number of people, rooms are dated, lots of conventions. Try Elbow Beach.

Both are really nice, as PP said. I prefer the one downtown. We've stayed in both and we now stay in Hamilton only. It doesn't have beach but I like going to some of the close by beaches (by scooter) which are nicer than the beach at the other Fairmont.

Both are nice. One is in-town in Hamilton (convenient to downtown and restaurants but no beach) and the other is across the bay (nice beach but have to take transportation everywhere). I prefer the one with the beach.....
