I've heard great things about Hyattsville middle school's performing arts program and have a friend whose daughter is in all the high honor courses at Northwestern. They have been very pleased with the school.

no. They once tried to zone out some of the edges of that city. I guess they won't try that again, but it is hard to be sure...

It is a wonderful school with a very active PTA. I can not imagine a better school. Be careful, though. They keep trying to redistrict. Make sure you buy a house very close to the school to ensure they don't rezone you out.

If there are any University Park parents reading this, I would love to know your thoughts on the school. I have always assumed that we would use a private school, but I also like the idea of a neighborhood school, if it is a good one. We do not currently live in the neighborhood. Thanks!
