Take 3 tablespoons of cakemix, 2 tablespoons of water, and mix together in a bowl. Put in the microwave for 1 minute. You have a perfect piece of cake that is low in calories. You can put ff whipped cream on top or indulge in something else. It is great to take care of a sweet tooth.

This would seem to combine tasting awful and being very bad for you.

+1. I love to bake as well, so I whenever I make something, my husband and I each eat a piece or two, and I take the rest in to work.

OP,

When we used to live in Columbia, David's Natural Market had a chocolate cream pie (made of tofu) that my husband couldn't get enough of:

He normally wouldn't have eaten something like that, but he had a piece b/f he knew what was in it. I didn't see it on their online menu, so I'm not sure if they still make it.

MOMs Organic or WF might have (closer) and similar treats when it's not your b-day and your craving a little something sweet.

Healthy chocolate mouse pie,

Anything I'll be able to find at a grocery store or bakery or restaurant? Don't have the time or energy to cook. I prefer no artificial sweeteners.
Thanks.

OP, here's my advice, having lost over 100 lbs six years ago (and kept it off).

Have a small portion of a regular (full fat) version of what you are craving on a small, festive plate. Do not buy some "healthy" low fat version that will not satisfy your craving and may even offer more calories and undoubtedly more chemicals than the regular version.

Make this a treat and make it the best possible treat you can buy. Spend money. Eat very slowly. The first few bites are the best. Pay attention to your body. When you have hit the point that the cake isn't really "tasting" any more, stop eating it. Don't save it. Put it down the garbage disposal.

+1. Enjoy the milestones. Then go back to the diet/fitness plan the next day.

Fat doesn't make you gain weight. Calories do.

Eat a small portion of the real stuff. Take a walk. Feel good about it.

That being said, you might try Sticky Fingers bakery in Columbia Heights. It's all vegan and therefore generally lower in fat.

Um... You can probably count on vegan to be lower in animal fat, but its certainly not low fat. Wherever did you get that idea?

Yes, lower in SATURATED fat, for sure.

Nitpick much?

Well then maybe she should just eat regular damn cake. What's the point of low fat cake anyway?

It's your birthday. It comes once a year. Eat what you want. Stop pretending chocolate mousse pie can be "healthy." Just go get a slice from a bakery or restaurant you like and enjoy. For me, I have to have slice of chocolate mousse cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory every year on my birthday. Don't need to eat in the restaurant--just want that slice.
