God has been simultaneously annoyed with humans and been toying with humans for a very long time. Jesus has been coming for a long time. The Apostles were pretty sure it was be any day now - 2000 years ago.

And yet, every week in church we say this:

Not to drive anyone nuts with semantics, but "soon" could mean a whole lot of different things in the scheme of things that starts with the Big Bang and ends sometime before the sun explodes. (Most of us faithful do believe in these scientific events.)

So the answer is usually something like, "we don't know, so you should be ready. Don't assume you can do something horrible and that you will have time to atone."

Bottom line is that we don't know. Catholics don't really believe in all of the fundamentalist doom and gloom, though.

I am sure we all wish we had the answer. No one knows what is going to happen.

Please explain this to me -- since Jesus has already been here, and "rose from the dead" on the third day (celebrated on Easter), is he literally coming back to Earth in a human form?

So, when we die, and if we have been baptized In His Name, then do we kind of "hang out in a field" somewhere for 2K years or so and wait for Jesus in his human form to arrive? Or do we get to see Jesus the day we die when our soul departs and our body remains here on Earth?

"I Will Raise You Up On The Last Day" -- does that mean the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse "Last Day"?
