People can have moments where they find something absurd or hard to take about the holiday season but still not resent it overall. Even my Christian friends sometimes do.

NP here. It's true, though, that there always seems to be an uptick in the anti-Christian, especially anti-Catholic, posts around Christmas and Easter. Stupid things like "why do you worship your Christmas Tree/Mary/Saints" that are obviously meant for no other purpose than to be insulting. (And no, I'm not Catholic.)

I guess those trolls aren't posting here because this thread puts them in a bit of a bind: post something obnoxious and it suggests you are, in fact, resentful!

I'm a pagan. I am confident enough in my owb beliefs that I feel no need to begrudge anyone else's faith or the way they celebrate it.

No. I don't really understand this part of the question.

When I was younger and worked in retail, I did volunteer to work late on Christmas Eve and early on Christmas Day. NO premium rate.

Same here. Not a fed but my office is closed on major holidays. I'll never resent a free day off!

Jew here. Don't resent the holidays at all. It never even occurred to me that I should. We don't do anything special on those days.... other than Chinese food and movie on Christmas . A couple of years ago we were invited to an Easter egg hunt with some friends. That was fun.

I'm a fed so working on Xmas not an issue.

Maybe if you are atheist, or something, you celebrate in a more secular way--on Christmas Santa brings toys, you get together with family for a big dinner, etc.

Or if you are a different religion, and do not feel it is appropriate to do things like Santa, big family dinner, etc. what do you do? If you work in an industry that still needs to operate on Christmas (hospital, police/fire department, etc.) do you volunteer to work on those days? Does your job pay a premium holiday rate for those shifts?
