DH is a master packer. Neat, efficient and tidy.

Not much of a runner, but my solution is to wear the largest pair of footwear on the plane ride. In my case it's usually hiking boots.

as well they should. I get so sick of seeing people try to shove their bags into the overheads when they are clearly way bigger than the allotted size. It adds so much time to the boarding process and the poor flight attendents have to deal with all the shmucks who think they are the most important person in the world and therefore it's ok for them to have a huge bag, or more usually, 2.

Yes. Went to Vietnam and Cambodia for 2.5 weeks with only a carryon. Lay out all your clothes and the cull from that.

Thanks for the feedback! I officially packed everything I could possibly need and more in a carry-on. I'm so glad I won't have to worry about luggage getting lost through the airlines. Now to convince my boyfriend that he can fit all his stuff in a carry-on and we're good to go

I packed for a week in Hawaii in a standard wheeled carryon. I also took a large handbag.
You may already do this, but rolling the clothes into tight little cylinders before packing makes a lot of room.

Op, yes it can be done! I do this all the time because I like to travel light. One time I booked a trip to CA last minute and only bought my purse and I was fine.

Back to your question though. The easiest thing to do is to pick clothes that COLOR coordinate with each other. This way you can swap out tops bottoms, accessories and you can even wear a couple of items more than once.

Traveling light is so much better than traveling with a bunch of crap.

Absolutely! I have done it for 1 month's worth of clothes (etc) for trips abroad---and my parents did it for a 2 month trip abroad. And Carribbean clothing is SO much easier than packing for the cold weather.

I always checked my luggage and then my bag got lost in June. A couple of months ago, we spent 8 days in aruba and I packed a.carry on. Brought 4 skirts, 7 tops, 2 dresses , bathing suits, underwear and a cover up. Wore my wedges and.packed 2 pairs of flat sandals. Makeup went in my oversized purse. It is SO much easier when going someplace tropical when you spend a good chunk.of your day in a bathing suit!! I also swam in the.ocean and did water sports for exercise so I didnt have to pack workout clothes and sneakers

Leaving town on Sunday for a week and would like to travel light with just a carry on. I don't think it's necessary to check luggage and risk it getting lost. Would you do it? Any tips or tricks? We're traveling on a cruise, to carribean, that's not fancy by any means. TIA.
