Personnally I try to keep politics and religion off of FB. I've seen more petty fights and stupid comments than I care to count and I want no part of it. I do know that some people view FB as a place to spout their views but that is just not me.

Devout Catholic against legalizing same sex marriage. I find you can only evangelize people one step at a time. You can proclaim God to the atheist, and Christ to the theist, Catholicism to the Christian, and traditional Catholicism to the cultural Catholic- but if you try to jump straight to "No Gay Marriage" without all the foundational philosophy that goes into it, then you just end up derailing people on their spiritual journey.

I make no secret of my Catholicism in my public life, but I also do my best to not turn people from Christ through clumsy proselytism.

Not Evangelical Christian, instead a moderate Catholic who disagrees with legalizing same sex marriage.

I don't post political stuff on FB generally and it drives me crazy that people do. Especially because, as DCUM tends to reinforce, people who claim to be liberal and open minded seem to extend that liberal open-mindedness only as far as those who agree with them, so why contribute to angry diatribes on both sides.

In the same way that I don't put political bumper stickers on my car, I don't think that arguing with good friends over personally held beliefs that don't impact our own relationship comes to any good end.

If you are an Evangelical Christian, is that clear on your Facebook wall and activity? Do you also openly state your anti-gay marriage stance and anti-abortion stance? (Most Evangelicals possess these beliefs). Have you lost friends as a result? Have you been labeled hateful? Has your online "conservatism" impacted how people view you at work (that is, if some of your friends are also co-workers)? Or do you play down your conservatism for fear of judgment/ridicule/debate etc?
