Tilapia is not as favored as wild Alaska salmon because it has lower levels of omega 3's. That said it is high in protein and low in fat, and farmed tilapia from the US or Latin America is considered as good a choice as swordfish or farmed salmon. Like everything the key is moderation.

Fish from China in general should be avoided general because the industry there is poorly regulated.

Tilapia in China is fed a diet of pig and goose feces. Disgusting. Google it.

Definitely don't eat tilapia imported from China.
I'm not really that health conscious, but this is gross.

Mix up cream cheese and some seasonings. Smear on top of tilapia, top with breadcrumbs, and broil till done. So easy and so good!

This recipe is for haddock, but you can use any flaky white fish you like.

You can also do this in foil. I used to quickly sauté some onions and peppers, put in the bottom, put a piece of tilapia on top, squeeze some kind of acid and spices, close up the package and bake in the oven for about 12 minutes.

Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and herbs in a small bowl. put the mixture in a Ziploc with the fish, let sit five minutes. Broil fish for 5-10 minutes depending on thickness. Quick and easy. Microwave some broccoli or saute some asparagus. I usually pair with those microwave rice packets. Dinner in 15.
