Stride rite will special order XW. My nephew was even able to get XXW from them.

Men's size 6W would probably fit him. Measure his foot with one of those online print outs.

Thank you for all the suggestions so far.
My son is 8 years old and in that akward size where he is just out of what Stride Rite carries, but not quite big enough for typical men's shoe stores.

All of the shoes I have found online in his size, youth 4 1/2 only come in a wide, not an extra wide.

I just find this so strange since I never have a problem finding sneakers in this size.

If he is still in children's sizes, Stride Rite should have something.

You would have a larger selection if he can start wearing men's sizes. (I don't know what age First Communion is usually given. Apologies if that is a nonsensical suggestion.)

We can not be the only ones with a son that wears an xw shoe. We find sneakers with no problem, but now we need black dress shoes for his First Communion. Does anyone have an idea where to buy a boys 4.5xw black dress shoe to be worn with a suit?
