We have also been very happy at Bethesda Reggio. Our son started there last spring and he has really blossomed since going there. He comes home every day singing the songs (in Spanish and English) that he has learned and he likes to proudly display all of his nature-based artwork around the house. The school is a very warm, family-type atmosphere.

I think Chevy Chase Reggio and Bethesda Reggio are run by the same people. And, yes, they definitely post here. Last I heard, they were having trouble filling spots. We went a different route, but I don't have anything good or bad to say about the program. It just wasn't for us.

We just started at Bethesda Reggio with our 3 year old coming from a much larger day care in DC. We are so happy here…in the park, beautiful space, teachers are wonderful. Our other place had 4 classes of at least 16 kids each with a tiny outdoor area full of plastic stuff you can buy anywhere.

Our two children have been at Bethesda Reggio for over a year now. Overall, we have been very happy with it. The teachers are warm and loving, the kids seem very happy, and the new location is in a lovely park. We also really love the Reggio philosophy, which is very play-based and incorporates a lot of creative art work.

However, this year, the class size increased to 20 kids in the 3s and 4s and 12 kids in the 2s. While there are many preschools with class sizes this large in Maryland because those are the state limits, these class sizes and teacher child ratios are much worse than what is allowed in DC. We were originally drawn to Bethesda Reggio because we were seeking a smaller setting for our children; ironically, we may also end up leaving for that same reason.

Anyone heard of Arco Iris Somos in Chevy Chase. I was told by a friend that they are spanding their Spanish summer camp to Saturday and weekday Spanish classes during school year 2013-2014. Arco Iris is also launching a Spanish Pre-school in 2014.

Our children are currently at Bethesda Reggio, and we have been very happy with it. Patricia and Eliana are warm and nurturing, and we feel very secure knowing that our children are loved and well cared for. The kids get individualized attention in a way that we didn't see at other preschools.

I went to an open house and was pleased with the location, space, and director/lead teacher, Patricia. However, the communication is terrible in getting questions answered about the program. Emails were not returned. It is family run; however the husband has no perspective on the educational program and seems to only be after your money. That turned me away. I want to find a nurturing place where everyone who represents the school supports the importance of each and ever family and has a strong understanding of their philosophy, whatever it may be.

This is the OP ... thanks for the feedback. Can you explain what you mean by lost at Children in the Shoe? We are debating between these Bethesda Reggio and Children in the Shoe. Have your children had any problems napping at Bethesda Reggio. The large open room makes me nervous for nap time. Thanks!

My daughter started there when she just turned 2 and it has been such a great experience. Night and day better than the "preschool" my son went through. Patricia is a wonderful teacher and we love the new place.

We sent our son to Children in the shoe until kindergartan and it was wonderful for hm. But my daugther was getting lost there. Chevy Chase Reggio was a total surprise to find--we were looking for something smallr and we've been there almost 2 years, now at the new place in Bethesda. The director, Patricia, simply has a way with children you don't find. We love her (and Ms. Eliana too!).

Does anyone who sent their child to Chevy Chase Reggio have any feedback?
