Thanks it's just frustrating that this had to happen now. It would've been nice if it happened when I was young, single, no kids, and lived with my parents. It just feels like I'll never get another job!

I'm PP that posted about HR being assholes and act 'above their station'. If what you say is true, then why are management/revenue generators/front office people more courteous and have spent time with me in terms of mentoring and networking even when i've emailed out of the cold regarding a particular position or area of a bank/fund/firm. Furthermore i have received more interviews and offers doing this instead of fucking with HR. These days with linkedin, it is even easier to this method as you can find people directly in the area/function and location of the firm in which you want to work in

HR people on the other hand sometimes have treated me with contempt it is ridiculous.

HR people are complete assholes for the most part. I have no idea why they act the way they do.

I've cold emailed Managing Directors, VP's, people that I KNOW that pull in 7+ digits a year in finance (i.e. people who you would think are typical 'assholes') and I've found them pretty courteous, helpful, willing to take time to have a discussion with me, circulate my resume to their counterparts in other related departments/teams if there isn't an opening in their own group.

As long as I've shown in my email that I have some idea of what they actually do, stuff they work on, and add a couple interesting questions that shows my genuine curiosity....I've gotten so much more help, advice, and job prospects going directly to the people who actually 'work'.

HR staff on the other hand have mostly always treated me with contempt and show zero respect....it's funny because when you look at the background of the former group vs the latter (on linkedin), HR people for the most part have zero business being bitchy assholes who think their shit don't stink.

Back in September, I spoke with an HR manager from a Pharmaceutical company. She was very interested in my resume and skills and said she was going to submit my resume to hiring managers and get back to me. She never did. However, in October, I got job offer from another Pharmaceutical company which I accepted. However, in January they fired me because I decided I wasn't a good fit. I'm still out of work. I'm wondering would it be wrong of me to reach out to the HR manager I spoke to in September? The company has several positions that I'm interested in. If so, how should I approach her?
