We are at nirbeck Montessori and very happy

If you are willing to drive to Jamon, I encourage you to stop by Casa de Montessori as it's right near by. It is at 14015 New Hampshire Avenue (between Randolph Road and Route 200 – the Intercounty Connecter (ICC).

My son goes there now and really likes the curriculum. They are AMI accredited and follow a wonderful montessori curriculum as well as having a great outdoor playspace. They are in the rear of the old Colesville elementary school so you have to drive around to the back part to see them. You can't see them from the street.

The program is very small and they really reach out to each child and learn their particular interests and passions. Then they motivate the child to learn and grow in all the areas in a really wonderful way. It is also extremely affordable compared to the other Montessori schools I looked at, if that is a factor for you.

You can schedule a visit and observe -- which I encourage you to do.

They will also be having an open house May 4th, but do stop by before then if you are interested. They still have some open spots.

I am the PP. I am not stuck on Montessori - just trying to find a good fit. I am actually pregnant right now, so will be looking for infant care first and eventually a good preschool. What is OCC? I have lived in Olney/Sandy Spring for 14 years and am not familiar with it. I was looking at Children in the Shoe for infant care (it got good reviews and so far has been my favorite daycare center of the ones we visitied). Clean, organized, friendly. I agre with you in that things for a 2 year old should be normal (essentially- let them be kids). Thank you so much for your feedback, BTW- it is helpful!

I only visited 2 Montesorris so am not super familiar w/ them but the Julia Brown one struck me as very regimented in that the kids were all super quietly sitting on their little work matts at the same time when we went. I am not the OP, but could you provide some examples of why they are so awful (without screaming)? We are also looking into various schools in the Olney area and curious as to what the issue with Julia Brown. Thanks!
