Fairly sure there's a bonus as 1) its industry practice and 2) there is a business development portion to the position.

I honestly dont know if its $130K total, but thats the only info I could find online and that info was very non-specific, just based on Simplyhired.com's numbers for the position in DC. If its inaccurate, I wouldnt think it would be more than $20K over what would be accurate but would $20K over be too high as a negotiating range?

Any tips for how to get them to start the salary discussion? The email said "We need to discuss your salary requirements." Is there any way for me to get them to throw out a number first? Or is that a bad idea and better to dictate the salary on my own?

How big of a range is reasonable? How far over what I want should I ask for?

(my previous jobs all gave me the salary upfront with the offer and we negotiated within a small range).

Absolutely don't go for $100. I would say at least $110-120 as a starting place.

Ask for the benefits package (it should be standare, i.e., everyone gets the same thing). Evaluate it and come in a little high on salary. You might get it, they might hymy you down a few bucks. Don't give them your minimum! You're worth more.

If you ask for 100k you will get 100k. I believe your description of job is very vague and is dependent on the organization size and scope. So it is very difficult to determine a salary.

I had an interview that went really well. They got back to me immediately for a background check and stated that we also had to discuss my "salary requirements." This is a different position than I was previously in with a different type of organization, so I have no idea what they are willing to pay. There is no info specific on Glassdoor but I found some general info on Simply Hired. (i.e. this position in this type of organization)

I was previously making $93K. I'd like to ask for at least that, but the Simply Hired site gives a median income of $131K. How do I know what to ask for? Who goes first? If I only ask for $100K, is there any chance they will offer higher?
