You need to take a Dave Ramsey course - usually offered at local churches - look online and call around. IT will change your life I promise. I am not religious - so ignore that part if you are not but it is simple straightforward advice for your marriage and finances. Seriously. Change your life.

Use online banking and automatic bill pay will take care 90% or more of your problem. If you have panic paying bills online, I guess you have to pay someone else to do the job for you and hope they will not clean you bank up.

Mint is great for tracking expenses and budgeting. For bills, I like to keep everything written down in a notebook. I make a list of all the bills due each month along with the amount and the due date. I check them off and write the amount paid and the date I paid them. I also enter all of our bills on the due date on our iCal. I also enter my DH's payday. I use "option V" to physical checkmark each bill as it is paid.

No late payments in many, many years. I can't stand paying late fees.

Quicken or Mint.

OMG, I love paying bills! I know my every bill- when it needs to be paid and how much it is.
I have 7 credit cards and I've never been late paying them.

This was me. You know what helped? CBT. It's a really effective way to deal with things that cause you anxiety. The therapist would have me bring the bills to the office and open them with her there.

I'm not talking about investing, savings, etc., but just day to day budgeting and spending. For whatever reason dealing with finances gives me a lot of anxiety, even when there is plenty of money in our accounts. Because of the anxiety I end up procastinating dealing with bills, etc., and things end up late, misplaced, whatever. So are there people who help with this sort of thing?
