For life-changing ramen, go to Ippudo.
http://www.ippudony.com/ I loved the Akamaru Modern. There can be a long wait, so plan for it or maybe go at an odd time. (I think I waited only 25 minutes for a single seat at the bar).
I was a little underwhelmed when I went to Eataly. It was fun to walk through but I didn't want to stay and eat at any of the restaurants there.
I had an absolutely wonderful brunch with friends at the restaurant at the NoMad Hotel. at

Just went to the Mission Chinese Food in San Francisco and I'm now dying to try the one in NYC.
I usually find the Eater 38 to be a pretty reliable source for choosing restaurants.

Have a great time and happy anniversary. NYC is the absolute best. Work in a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge if you can.
