God, I really, really hate the fact that my DD's ES has a hootchie-cootchie cheerleading squad. She actually came home at about age 4 grinding her ass and chanting "I'm sexy! I'm sexy!"

Awesome lessons to learn in pre-K.

Skinettes are ok but I like them younger. HS is game i think.

Hoping you are a high school kid yourself. If not, creeper.

I'm in my 30's. Creeper? I would probably not act on it since they're underaged...legally. But if you think that I'm few and far between, think again.

What I love is a school-connected activity that keeps kids in shape, teaches that hard work and practice are among the most important ingredients in success and that promotes joy among participants. Cheerleading does all these things, so Go Cheerleaders!

Cheerleaders have their place! When the game gets boring, they provide eye candy to bank it and spank it.

Whoa, this bashing of cheerleading is not necessary. To compare it to a sport is an old argument and one that's been debated for years. It is recognized and sanctioned by the DCPS athletic department, enough said.

If school is not fun for you, it is understandable. I said everyone loves cheerleaders and not everyone loves a cheerleader, there's a difference.

Well, for the posters who are nay sayers there was a capacity crowd in attendance who enjoyed it immensely. More importantly, the elementary parental participation is phenomenal.

Surely, you have not had your coffee, if you are calling for Deal to rid themselves of cheerleading. They were phenomenal and could have beaten the high-school teams.

The cheerleading of your yester-years of sis-boom-bah has gone bye-bye. Get with it or be gone!!!

By the way, the tight cheerleading outfits are necessary because the loose fitting sweaters and pleated-skirts were causing more injuries over the years.

Cheerleading and slutty costumes and suggestive dancing/cheering is so grotesque. Esp at the ES and MS level to see young girls with the tight "booty" clothes and the their coarse voices shouting bragging slogans--I hate everything about the culture of cheerleading. It should be banned from secondary school to say nothing of elementary. My DS was a B-ball game last year--they played against Francis ES. These were 5th grade girls with coarse voices amplified over loudspeakers--karaoke style rap blasting in the background. The only thing missing was a stripper pole. Get rid of cheerleading--esp at Deal--it's embarrassing that a serious school has this as a school sponsored activity.

Cheer leading is totally trashy IMO. Would not allow my DD to do it. Fortunately, she's a real athlete.

Huh... Well, the cheerleaders on one of these teams whom my child knows personally are indeed nice girls. But I don't at all love the idea of cheerleading. Nope, not everyone.
