Yes and no.

The urine contains way less hcg than blood, so it is possible that you hcg is detectable in blood test but not urine test.

If that is the case, it means your blast implanted later than normal after transfer, and hcg accumulation started later. While it is possible that you will still have a successful pregnancy, the miscarriage probability also increases for the later implanted embryo.

This is good advice but SO hard. I was in op's exact scenario a few days ago. My beta was essentially negetive and the hcg level kept decreasing. I had SO much faith that it was going to work for me. I was, and still am, absolutely devastated to hear that it did not. I have no real advice except to say that a good beta (above 50) is unlikely. Hpts are fairly reliable. At least you can be somewhat emotionally prepared.

This is OP again. I should explain that this is my 5th IVF. The first 4 all failed (3rd was ectopic) and were all 3-day transfers. This was my first blastocyst transfer (2 A grade with no fragmentation and 1 B grade) so my hope for this cycle is high. The first 4 cycles all had the same symptoms after transfer - cramps and breast tenderness the first week then both symptoms would disappear the second week. Then about three days before beta, I would spot and get a really bad headache, the same kind of headache I usually get before I start my period. This time, I've been having cramps, been bloated and have had breat tenderness since a couple of days after transfer. I have not spotted like the other cycles and have not had my usual premenstrual headache. I know that these are also side affects of the progesterone but based on the first 4 cycles they usually stop after the first week. So because this time seems different, I hoped, prayed and tested (I did not take any home pregnancy test for the first four cycles). Because this is probably our last attempt, I wanted to be prepared for whatever happens. So, is there anyone with any positive stories? Is there anyone who has had a positive blood test after a negative hpt taken 12 days after transfer?

I had 3 5-day blastocyst transferred 12 days ago. I took a home pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. My beta is tomorrow. Is there any hope for me? Is there anyone who had a positive blood test after a negative hpt taken this late? I read that hpt should be able to detect after 9 days (for 5 day transfers).
