Obviously it's easier to take steps to moderate a thread before it has a large number of responses. Also, given the similarity of the two threads, most of the responses would have been pretty much the same.

NP. From what I can see, removing the post does seem a bit heavy-handed. Oftentimes there are multiple threads relating to the same newsworthy event and some of them overlap. But Jeff is the fox in this henhouse. You can't always predict what will prompt him to act.

I think I've already provided what I'm teaching my kids, oldest will be 4, in my OP. No, I'm not discussing rape with him. But, I am trying to teach him to be a decent human being. I'm trying to lay down life lessons that he'll keep with him. I want to know how a little boy as sweet as mine could turn into a rapist. Yes, some kids can be just bad, but parenting has to play a role. I think it would be foolish indeed to ignore concerns about raising decent kids until the teen years, or even until elementary school.

BTW, lots of elementary school kids issues on general parenting, as well. I thought general parenting applied to all parents? My point here, once you explained that "teaching kids not to grow up and rape as well as to be cautious in the world" is strictly the domain of the parent of older children. It doesn't have to be a specific conversation about raping (or urinating) on other kids. Some of these kids don't seem to know right from wrong.

That topic belongs in the older kids forum, which as it happens, there is already a thread on the topic.

I posted about how one can prevent raising kids who would do such things as reported in the Stuebenville rape case, as well as how we can teach our daughters to protect themselves.

I can't imagine that I said anything so offensive it would be removed. What happened?
