My DS is 11 months and got a stomach virus (likely rotavirus) about 2.5 weeks ago. My DH and I also got it, but we felt better within 48 hours.
When he was really sick, he mostly had diarrhea -- he only vomited a handful of times, mostly on the first day. The diarrhea lingered until about 1.5 weeks afterwards, and then he slowly started getting interested in eating again. His poops got firmer and less diarrhea-like but still seemed a little uncomfortable to him, and he seemed to have some gas still.
He's been taking his bottle really well and is eating a TON of formula (like 40 oz a day!), but if he eats solids, he throws up. He never did this before the virus. The first time he threw up during the virus was after he ate a Cheerio. Now, he seems fine most of the day but not very interested in solids and cries if we put him in his highchair. Then he'll sometimes calm down and show a little interest in food, but if he eats more than a tiny bit, he throws up a few minutes later.
Is this still the virus? Is it something to be worried about? Is there something he could have gotten that would cause this and might need antibiotics or something?
