Mine didn't come and I would've felt like an idiot if he had. There is really no reason for him to be there.

I had it done by my RE at the hospital. I was waiting in a little waiting room with about 6 other women, all of whom were waiting for HSGs as well, and none of whom had a husband with them! I don't even think a man could have been there with us - we were dressed in (scant) hospital attire for the procedure. So while DH could have driven there and back, it would have been a total waste of his time. Save his time for egg retrieval... etc. And prenatal appointments!!!!! Good luck!

Yes he came with me but they do not allow partners in. So he just sat in the waiting room. The nurse was super nice and I think I kind of crushed her fingers hike she was holding my hand

No but we did both take the afternoon off (I was nervous from online stories and those were the days when he a had a more flexible job) and he met me outside after. I felt FINE and silly for having taken the time off and having asked him to. But we had a fun lunch and it ended up being a really fun day

nope! Went right back to work afterwards. I barely felt a thing but then I have horrendous monthly cramps so perhaps the years of those make the hsg seem easy.

No, and I couldn't drive myself home afterwards. Not to scare you, but just to provide a little perspective. For me, the pain was intense, and I felt really faint afterwards for about 30 minutes.

Nope, went in and went right to work after it.
It's unpleasant but really not bad - my recommendation, though, is to bring your own pad - at least at GW they give those giant matress pads of a panty liner and they're horrible. Bring one or two regular ones and you'll thank yourself.
Same for any ultrasound you might have during any cycle. The goo drips out (sooo sexay!) - better pads are key, yet somehow I forgot them at home 8 times out of 10!

Had my mom in lobby of hospital for first - no one for second- dominion takes All hsg patients on one day into a back waiting room and you go one after another

No, but those types of tests and appointments don't bother me. Mine was very mellow, not really any discomfort, but I know some people have more pain.

No and it would have been entirely unnecessary. I did feel a little weird though because there were a bunch of people waiting and I was the only one without a husband there.

If so, where you glad he was there or did it seem silly after the fact? If not, did you wish he was there? I'm a baby when it comes to these things and would like DH to come but I don't want to ask him if its unnecessary (he has a very demanding work schedule). TIA for any insight.
