Also are you talking about the SSATs b/c I meant the SATs - for college admissions not high school.

Tune in this weekend to College Confidential Prep School and you'll see numbers of 99th percentile kids who were not accepted to Exeter and Andover when the acceptances/denials are received this weekend.

Perfect scores are no guarantee of acceptance. These kids are amongst the best and brightest in the country. While Jr may excel in math, the schools want well-rounded individuals and that includes the Phillips.

Really?!? TJ is not any better than the DC privates for math. Pretty funny... For math and science TJ is certainly in the same league as Exeter.

Here we go again. There are numerous threads on this. TJ is fabulous and free. If you live in Va and if you're kid can get in and loves math/science -- save your $$$.

If you don't live in VA and you want to go private -- apply elsewhere. And, again, don't make so many assumptions OP. A lot of top scoring kids are rejected from the elite privates.

We will be considering TJ and private schools. Granted our child is in early elementary (public) school. It really depends on how good he is at math. If he is outstanding at math, we'll apply to TJ and elite boarding schools. If he is "good" at math but not outstanding, he'll either stay at public and/or apply to GDS, St Albans, St Anselm's, etc. for high school. Going to TJ will mean we will have to move.
