I disagree with the PPs. GW isn't a top school, but I got what I wanted from it. It's got a good program, good professors - note I say good but not great - and it has a whole host of companies that recruit there. The MOST important thing in my mind is what companies actively recruit from the school, regardless of the ranking. If you want to work at McKinsey, then don't go to GW. But if you want to work at say, a local hospital, do policy work, and/or work for a company like Advisory Board, then yes, go to GW.

There are really 18 schools in the top 10. Virginia and Duke are outside the top 10 but worth attending. In fact Duke is known for health care management.

I think an MHA is very different from a general MBA-- like you said, more niche. So the overall ranking of the MBA is less relevant. I agree with the PP-- look at state schools or other cheaper options. These often cater more toward working professionals, anyway. My BIL did his at VCU in Richmond, but perhaps they have a program at their N. VA campus?

I would look at a state school w/ an online program OP. It's not worth it to go private unless it's a top 20.
