I agree. I've been trying for a few years without success.

I have been trying to get tickets to the Easter Egg roll for years. You can't expect you'll ever get in again. If the photos from it aren't worth taking an afternoon off work, I don't know what is.

It's worth it to go once. We went last year with our 2 year old and might go again this year (relative of VIP). Your 2 year old might enjoy seeing the characters and your 6 year old will love it. However, the lines to get in are 2 hours + security so bring a stroller for the youngest (yes, they are allowed on the grounds).

I took a 7 month old and had a blast. Granted, we were not standing in line for many activities, but honestly, it wasn't that bad when we were there. You could walk around the grounds and see characters (some Disney, Sesame Street, the Easter bunny, and Smokey the Bear) and hear musical performances. We stood in a couple lines for pictures, but nothing was that bad.

Think about it this way: if you never get tickets again, will you be disappointed that it wasn't something you got to experience once?

It's not an every day experience and it's so very Washington. It is something your DD will always remember and you'll have pictures. I vote for taking the time off.

NOOOOOO. Unless your tickets are for the first entry time, do not waste your time. It's a mob scene. There is no room to get to any of the various stations. DD and I (at age 3) spent more than an hour in line to get in, then left after 20 minutes of wall-to-wall people. I've never been so disappointed.

I went last year with my six-month-old and had a blast. I would say it is definitely worth it, though not if the weather is bad.

I won tickets in the lottery for the White House easter egg roll with out realizing that its on a Monday. I would have to take the afternoon off of work to attend with my DD (age 6) and DS (age 2). I'm trying to save up my leave for summer vacations, so I don't want to use up the hours unless its really worth it. I'm curious how others have enjoyed it in the past? Will it be a great memory for my daughter, or just a so so event?
