Look for a policy with a level fee. $200,000 is also probably not quite enough for you if you have small kids.

Thanks. I will check on the pricing long term and shop around some more. I am young and healthy so was tempted to go for it because of the low rate but wasn't really thinking about 20 years from now. Are you converting to permanent insurance?

I got this offer 15 years ago when I was in my 30 s and too consumed with kids to shop around. It's not a bad deal at first, but the price goes up every five years. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with cancer before I switched insurance carriers. I'm healthy now but stuck with AAA at 52 and paying about four times as much as what I was originally.

If you are in average health and in your mid 50s it isa good deal.

Shop around. I would be suspect of any offer for life insurance I got unsolicited in the mail.
