OP here - still trying to determine if anyone at Potomac upper school level is ever denied? So far, I see only one poster denied and it was for K. There was an article on another forum at one point that quoted AD as not using the rejection word. Has anyone ever been denied, not WL, for upper school?

Not true. I'm a Potomac graduate, and even eons ago when I went there, this was the goal. Don't forget the school has its roots in DuPont/kalorama. I hope there is wl movement bc it's an amazing place. Good luck

I understand your frustration. My child is older and at a private already so, maybe I just hear more "chatter" but the wisdom is it is hardest to get in to Potomac from NOVA. I am sure it does seem unfair but in order to be considered a top private school, Potomac has to draw from the full Washington, D.C. Area, not just Virginia. Unfortunately for Virginians, there are not a whole lot VA choices.

I have seen a lot of w/l here today as well. Our kid was w/l for k last year and we never heard about a spot (for us or anyone else). Have heard anecdotes about movement, but no more.

Have also seen that a couple of posters have not heard yet. Will be interesting to see if there is a geographic difference in acceptance rate. Some believe that Potomac is trying to expand its reach and may be accepting Non-VA applicants more than in the past.
