My friend looked at it for her daughter. Said it seemed to be staffed by uneducated people from Anacostia.

We're thinking of sending our DD here when a space opens up; any recent reviews/thoughts?

Interested in this as well. And, what do people say are the differences among CDC 1, CDC 2, and CDC 3?

But, it's just not the standard of care that I want for my daughter. I am currently looking into moving her to another facility on the Air Force side of the base.

WHY WOULD YOU KEEP YOUR CHILD HERE?!?!?! You KNOW she was abused and yet you continue to send her to this daycare? I can't even begin to wrap my head around that.

We are a military family and we pay twice as much to use an off base daycare by choice. At the moment, every single Army CDC is under investigation. They have terrible hiring practices and little oversight. Pay the money and go elsewhere.

I am curious as to why you would keep her in the same place that she was abused? I don't know enough about how these situations are handled (besides what I assume would be counseling and litigating against the abuser and perhaps establishment if they were negligent). But is it really healthy to keep a child in that environment?

If I'm not mistaken, there's a wait for the base home daycares as well. The central registry POC should be able to give you a status for both the CDCs and home care.

Do any have you have any referrals for home daycares on Bolling? Our infant has been on the CDC list for a while now and I have tp go back to work.

My DD (12 months) has been at the JBAB CDC for the last 6 months. We love her teachers, and she is always happy to see them and the other babies at drop-off. It has been a great experience so far.

And to echo the other PPs, I'm sure your friend was thinking of FT Myer.

It's Ft Myer that has had the problem. I'm at Bolling (now JBAB), and my DC was at one of the CDCs for over 3 years. Parents who are at the JBAB CDCs are very much on top of how things are being run, even more so now because of the Ft Myer scandal. Your children will be fine in the drop-in care.

It is Fort Myer that they are talking about. Three different people were charged. They did have cameras in the room as well. But DoD policy didn't require anyone to review the footage unless there was a problem suspected.

Haven't heard anything about Bolling CDC but there was a big abuse issue at Fort Myer CDC last fall... I would bet this is what the coworker was thinking of.

Hi,

I have 2 children and was recently looking into the drop-in care at Bolling AFB. A friend of mine uses it regularly and loves it. Well, someone my DW works with told her that there was apparently some sort of scandal involving children being abused. I'm finding this pretty hard to believe given that there are video cameras in all the rooms. I also searched Google and found nothing. However, another friend said that if such a thing happened, it wouldn't be info that was available to the public anyway. Has anyone heard anything like this? I'm assuming this person is misinformed.

TIA
