It is the only DC school I can imagine my son attending.

Does this mean anything more than you're not a Georgetown fan?

Is GWU not in DC?

Hey remember me? I'm the hipster looking AU kid that briefly spoke to you on saturday morning. We really hit it off and I think you're really nice and a sexy mile. Wanna maybe meet up again sometime?

It just make them look like spoiled Euro-trash. But Oh, that's right, they are.

Who on earth cares about what people are wearing on mass ave? PJs and flip flops are hardly unusual or offensive.

While they may not be unusual, they are designd as sleepwear. Just because many do it does not make it an appropriate garment for walking around. It looks horrid. It's not offensive, but it looks tacky and unattractive--ungroomed.

And not European, as the only people I've ever seen doing that anywhere in Europe have been teenaged Americans.

Have you been to a high school, any college campus, or your local Giant during winter break at any time during the last 5-10 years? That's what the kids wear.

I have seen full fledged adults as well as middle aged people in their pj's and flip flops at my local Starbucks. Someone needs to chill out a bit.

Really? Euro-trash??

I was born and raised in Europe and my mom would never let us out in pj pants or sweatpants for that matter. She always told us its bad manners. I still rarely wear sweatpants out. Usually only to the gym or if I'm sick and need to go to work.

So, pjs and sweatpants, totally an American thing!!

I was an AU student and agree the neighbors are completely obnoxious. We rented a house in the neighborhood where we were told we could not park on the public street.

AU has the most obnoxious neighbors, evah. I one time saw a neighbor calling in a student's car parked in front of his house. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was my former boss, a well-known attorney with nothing better to do on his day off than monitor his street for parking violators!

This happened a few years ago but I just thought of it and thought it would give you all a giggle.

While taking a tour of the American University campus we were taken into a dormitory. After seeing a dorm room our group comprised of high school students and their families were on an elevator back down. The elevator stopped on a floor and when the door opened, there was a girl standing there holding a bong. She must have been stoned or totally clueless because she stepped on the packed elevator with all of these parents and rode down a few floors and got off. As soon as the doors shut behind her all of us just burst into hysterical laughter. I still smile when I think of it. I also now think all AU students are stoners which is probably unfair.
