None of the above, because you are clearly aiming for bragging rights that come from getting your child into a competitive K-12 (allowing for Beauvior).

These are all so different from each other after ~3rd grade, it's clear to even anonymous DCUMers that the common denominator for you is competitiveness/the triumph of getting a slot/resultant cache.

But location and your family's values and lifestyle do play a role.

If you're in Potomac or most of Bethesda (north of Goldsboro) go to Norwood. CC, MD or west of River and Wisconsin, or Georgetown go to St. Patrick's. East of River and Wisconsin -- CC DC, Tenley, Friendship Heights go to Sheridan. It's that simple.

I would choose Sheridan because it is ten minutes from my house. Is that helpful?

Yes, I do want help figuring out which of these schools might be the better choice. Location won't play a role.

Does this mean you think the rest of DCUM is a productive use of people's time?

Did you tell any of them they were a top choice for you? If not, you may not need to worry about this. If they know you're viewing them as "backup" schools, you're much less likely to get in.

These types of questions are premature, no?

If you want religion as part of your education and want a strong sports program, then St. Patrick's.

Not sure how they can be equally convenient since two are in DC and one is in Potomac.

If you want more DC at your school, then either st. Patrick's or Sheridan.

More progressive, Sheridan. without knowing what you want, hard to answer directly.

They are very different schools.

Let's assume that all are equally convenient. Which would you choose, and why?
