Or maybe they're quick to label kids with IEPs at YY when the kids can't understand math in Mandarin.

3rd grade 26 students: 1 teacher: 1 fellow

Started the year at 25 students, up to 26 before Oct count day (school decided to increase class size by 1 when MS underenrolled), 2 have moved out of state, now 24: 2.

Plus a special ed teacher in classroom during math & reading blocks

DCPS school. 17:2 ps3 (1 SN child) 19:2 pk4 (1 SN child) beyond that the school's fundraising has allowed then to keep an aide per classroom through the upper-grades.

I'm talking elementary schools: There is no difference for Title 1 schools, they just happen to sometimes be under-enrolled. DCPS has a standard for PS3 and PK4, which is dictated by the federal government (due to blending Head Start into DC's early childhood). It's 16/18 respectively I believe (and our popular Title 1 school is always at that limit. The upper grades range from 20 to 26. I'm not sure whether there is a WTU dictated upper limit but I think it could go as high as 30 about. There definitely is a limit imposed by fire code regulations. So you might see that upper limit depend a little on the size of classrooms. And another variable is how a school allocates its paraprofessionals (aids). There is one (full-time) required in PS3 and PK4 and typically one for K (required?). But there are other aids, which tend to be allocated to larger classrooms.

I realize title 1 schools generally have smaller class sizes so please indicate if the school is title 1.
