I don't put the date that I graduated on my resume. If I did, it would appear I had 3 fewer years of work experience than I do, since I began working full time way before I graduated. But if that's not your situation then I'd include the date. You're not old and about to retire in 2 years or anything.

Not putting dates on a resume is just a giveway that you're trying to hide your age. Just put the dates. If they're ageists they'll see you at the interview anyway. If they are looking for someone experienced, they will expect to see a 50-year-old person when you come in.

An HR recruiter was given my name and approached me about a job that looks like it might be interesting. My resume is a few years out of date and I need to refresh it for discussions about the opportunity.

Looking at it, I wonder if I should revamp it altogether. I've been out of school since the 80's and obviously my resume gives away my age. (So does my appearance, probably, but that's not so definite.)

Should I re-vamp my resume so that dates are omitted? Or is that just silly (because e.g. I have more than 20 years of experience in my field)?
