1 SUV/Cross over with 3rd row option, and one Mini Cooper Convertible. Love the combination.

Primarily drive kids in the SUV with the back seat down for hauling, but can easily do 7 people for around town when folks come to visit, especially now that we don't need a stroller (though the 3rd row up does leave JUST enough space for an umbrella / small bags.) And it's a split 3rd row so easy enough to get one extra person back there while still having storage space.

Mini fits the kids just fine (2.5 & 5), and actually fits them better now than as infants since their FF facing seats are ones that nestle in better and sit them closer to the actual sit. For around town it's great, and it's fantastic for downtown DC parking. Finding a space is a lot easier when all you need to park is a mini!

1 SUV, 1 truck. SUV is the family car. Truck is used for weekend projects.

We had 1 SUV and one tiny car. For various reasons involving teen drivers we now have 3 SUVs (one largeish, one midsize and one small) and the one tiny car.

We have two kids, two dogs, one 7-passenger SUV and one small sedan. I'm really not sure why you need more than one vehicle that carries everyone.

we opted for the (gasp) minivan and kept our small sedan. On the weekends, we take the minivan. We have family come visit often but the minivan allows for everyone in one car comfortably.

One SUV and one mid-size car. Day-to-day we can use the mid-size car fine, even with two carseats. We use the SUV when we need a second car, when we're traveling and need the space, or when hauling bigger items. And the SUV is a hybrid, so we're not going poor with the rising gas prices (I know a friend with a huge SUV who puts in $90 worth of gas at a fillup )

1 SUV with fold down third row, 1 large sedan car

One SUV and one sedan. The only reason we have an SUV at all is my husband insisted on four wheel drive and this particular vehicle was on a great sale. I desperately want to go back to driving a sedan.

We do not, however, anyone who stays with us for extended periods. I'd be more likely to rent a larger vehicle if necessary, not own one.

We had a cross over and a sedan. The sedan was too small once DC#2 came along. DH was too cramped in that car. We now have two cross overs. It's nice because we aren't always using my car on the weekends or road trips anymore.

Parents (both working out of home and drive) who have 2 kids (car seat age). Assuming you bought an SUV/minivan to fit the kids plus stuff, was your second vehicle also a suv? Or a large car (full size maybe?) When #2 arrived, we bought a 7 seater SUV to replace a compact car. Now we're debating is the second vehicle also needs to be a 7 seater or maybe just a large car. My folks visit on average once a year (from overseas) and stay weeks at a time. What do the rest of you do car-wise?
