PS I'm actually surprised at how many adults are so skeeved out by the crusts that they'll do all of these alternative things to get out of eating them? Weird!

Use them for whatever we use regular piece of bread for. I was taught growing up not to be a baby and whine if we got the crusts so I've pretty much internalized that and don't view them as any different from any of the other pieces. For my DD (age 5), I enforce the same thing, and she's internalizing it too. If the gets a sandwich made out of the crusts, she eats it. The most I'll do (for her) is turn the piece around so that the outer part of the crust faces the inside. She's fine with this.

All of mine get tossed into the freezer to be used for homemade stuffing.

If toast won't work, use them for bread crumbs or croutons.

I make grilled cheese with them with the "Crusty" side facing in. Kids have yet to notice.

French toast, freeze and use for savory stuffing. Crust crunch on mac n cheese.

I now use but end bread in home made meatballs.

Kids reject them but mom and dad are ok for use in sandwiches or toast.

We buy high fiber whole wheat bread for sandwiches. My kids eat it willingly in sandwich form, but don't like the ends of the bread. I freeze them then make a big bread pudding with eggs, milk, maple syrup. It's tasty (at least DH and I think so) but the kids don't like it. So now what do I do with the butts of the bread loaf? Bread crumbs? I've never made them and we don't use them often. Ideas??? Thanks!
