My mum had an ectopic pregnancy and one tube removed. She got three healthy kids after that including my brother at 41.

My friend just gave birth to her first baby after having a tube removed, with no issues! Good luck to you OP!

Ectopic in April, treated with methotrexate (not surgery like you had). That was my first pregnancy. Had an HSG in September because I still had the offending tube. Results were normal and I got pregnant that cycle. Am now in my second trimester. So far so good.

The ectopic was hard, really hard mentally. But my doctor (and my own research) convinced me it was just bad luck.

I did make sure the second pregnancy was monitored very closely at the beginning - blood tests every 2 days from my first BFP to make sure my hcg was doubling until the first ultrasound at 5 weeks to make sure it was in the right place and a second ultrasound at 6 weeks to be extra sure and see the heartbeat. I'd recommend the same to anyone with a history of ectopic, esp. if she only had one tube left.

BTW I experienced tons of cramping with the second. More than with the ectopic. It was scary for a while there.

Good luck!

I had an ectopic and then carried 2 pregnancies to term. You won't know until you try.

Hello,

I am 35. I have been pregnant 3 times -- one m/c, one wonderful preemie, and one ectopic. Tube removal in early Dec. Period has finally started 10 weeks later.

Doctor told me to no testing is needed, just try again. I am concerned about my ability to carry a pregnancy to term, and I'm wondering if there isn't something
I should be getting tested for. I am thinking of going to Shady Grove Fertility even though my insurance won't cover it.

Please advise. Thank you so much!!
