I want to say it was a month for us, two years ago. Our hardship was childcare (wanted DS to go to the school assigned to his grandparents' address) and it was approved without an appeal. The response came via mail.

When we filed our COSA this summer it took 6 weeks, however we later found out it had been sitting on someone's desk for a while and should have turned around more quickly. We were approved though.

I don't recall exactly how long it took, but it was a reasonable amount of time. I think they say on the form the amount of time it generally takes.

Also, expect to get rejected and then appeal.

How good is MCPS about turning COSA requests around? Just wondering from those of you who have applied before, how long did it take for you to get a response? And how did the response come to you, via mail, or phone call, email, etc.
