I think I read they are getting a refund and a voucher for another cruise (not that I would take the next one) and there was one other "perk". It sounds awful. I think this is why my husband refuses to go on cruises.

I find it so odd that news report keep mentioning the passangers don't have "hot coffee" or "hot drinks" Really? that just doesn't seem worth bringing up.

Isn't being stuck on a floating mall hellish regardless?

The current situation obviously sucks, but we took a Carnival cruise and had fun. I do think if you are complaining about cheap food and decor, you're a bit of a snob. The food was good, in my opinion, and who really cares about the decor on a cruise ship? I didn't notice it one way or the other.

Wow! What an awful trip! We travel RC Freedom. It is expensive, but nothing like that every happened. It was fun.

You couldn't pay me enough money to go on a cruise. Ever.

+1. It was my first cruise and I felt like a spoiled brat for not enjoying it, but it REALLY sucked. You feel like you're on a floating Walmart. Cheap food, cheap, tacky decor, pretty crappy ports. (Though now I feel lucky because like this ship, ours had a propulsion issue and they worried if we went to our initial port of call of Turks and Caicos that we wouldn't have the power to make it back to Miami on time, so they changed the port to Freeport, Bahamas which was a FUCKING DUMP, but way better than being adrift at sea on a Shit Ship.)

I've been on two different Carnival Cruises in my life; family members on many more. It's main attraction is that they are cheap. You get what you pay for. None of us had any positive memorable experiences on Carnival....

They don't. The norovirus runs rampant.

We took a Carnival cruise in December and it was the cruise from hell with everything working. I can't imagine what those people are going through.

I heard on Anderson Cooper that Carnival is offering the passengers a refund on their cruise. LOL. They deserve way more than that! What a horrible experience!

I heard passengers are sleeping on deck because the conditions are so bad.

This is not the love boat! I heard they were serving up onion sandwiches and it was a three hour wait for that! The toilet do not flush. They have to do their stuff in bags and leave it out side the door.

Brent Nutt of Texas told the CNN network that his wife Bethany, a passenger on the ship, described in a telephone call on Monday "horrific" conditions and fighting over scarce food.

"The odor is so bad that it's making them sick," Nutt said. "They're vomiting and stuff all over the boat just from the odor ... There's feces all over the floor."
