PP: I asked that same question in another thread about this case - there are I think three of them which is annoying. No one answered me. However, there's also info in another thread that discusses that he's now being charged as a juvenile.

The article said the boy was being tried as an adult. Why?

I come from a family of journalists so I *generally* support the field but I HATE the type of gotcha journalism that involves knocking at grieving families doors. How terrible.

This is just sad. Just so sad. I cannot imagine how anyone is ever moving on in this situation.

How clueless can you be? This is a fact of life for poor families. Why don't you pay more for everything instead of expecting low-income workers and their families to subsidize your lifestyle?

It doesn't make it appropriate or safe for a 14 yo to be providing the care.

This is so sad. A crying baby can be so frustrating as we all know. That poor 14 year old. He had way too much responsibility taking care of her overnight! Agreed it wasn't right what he did, but he should not have been in charge of her in the first place.

Because that's so easy when you work the night shift in a low-wage job. And besides, childcare in this area is just so darn affordable!

I read another article stating he was home with the baby and a 3 year old sibling.

That is so tragic. It doesn't say what time she died, so we don't know if this was in the first hour that his mother went to work or in the middle of the night, but either way, clearly this child was not equipped to babysit a 7 month old. That's horrific.
