Yes. Be 100% certain of what your responses will be going in -- if they offer you x job at y salary (basically what they said last time), would you take it? Only call your original contact/interviewers if the answer is yes. The last thing you want to have happen is that they offer the same thing again and you say no for some other reason because that really will have burned the bridge forever.

Go for it. DH turned down a job when I was pregnant with our first because it would have required moving. A few years later we were ready to move and work wasn't going well so he called the firm that had made him an offer and they brought him out for another round of interviews and he got the job.

I don't think it could hurt to apply again.

In summer 2011, when I started my new job, I had two offers. One from my current job downtown DC and one from a place closer to home. They were doing the same job for about the same money (the DC one was slightly higher).

At the decision time, I thought the DC one was better, so I took that.

Now that I've been here 1.5 years, I'm looking again. I just can't do the commute. I like the job, my work, the co-workers, benefits...everything is good. I just hate the commute and the fact I don't see my kids until 7PM each night (I see them for maybe 15 mins in the morning). I would rather have some family time.

A similar job has opened in the other company that offered me the job before. Did I burn a bridge by turning them down? Would you consider throwing your resume over there as a chance or just let it go....and look for other opportunities closer to home.
