Does it say anywhere in the message that the amount spent on the dog was in lieu of charitable donations? No, it does not. The beauty of a high HHI is that it frees you up to make large charitable donations AND save a beloved dog. Get over yourself.

I spent 1000 last month. Worth it not to lose our dog. He has something that will cost us a lot of money 500 every 6 - 8 weeks for the next 6 months to a year. Worth it. He is a family member.

We just spent $1000 this month for two vet visits, one planned the other due to illness. That seemed like a lot to us.

I spent $10K over six months to replace 2 torm ACLs. Against my principal but I felt I had no choice since I took her on as part of the family. Very strange position to be in for me.

Just wondered if people had any thoughts on this. Not that I am faced with this decision but I have wondered if there would be point when I'd just not feel able to spend any more.

There may be several criteria: age of dog, prognosis for a cure, how much the dog is suffering, how much additional cost may need to be incurred, personal financial limitations, etc

Thoughts?
