Huh. It's amazing then that we all somehow learned to count to 100 without having had the treat of 100th Day in our classes when we were in K. Whatever did we do back then in those olden days?

I'm not sure what giant treat you think is being given to them. For the 100th day of school, but kids talked about the 100th day, and had a piece of paper where they had to draw 100 of something (circles, hearts, squares, etc). Counted to 100 as a class. Grouped 100 items into groups of 10, etc. I don't see this as some sort of extreme excessive treat that is spoiling kids.
