My hair goes really fast. I always get highlights when I cut my hair every six or seven weeks.

My guy charges almost as much to blowdry after highlighting as he does to cut and blowdry. So, it's a bit of a racket and so I do go for the cut since I feel like I'm paying for it anyway.

No. Cut every 6 weeks, highlights every 12 weeks.

I get my hair colored every five weeks. I used to get it cut every time. Now I do it every other time and it works out fine. So, about every 8 - 10 weeks I get a trim.

Yes, because the color dries out my long hair. The ends need to be trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks to keep my hair shiny healthy. I don't want the "oldhair" dried-out parched hay head.

I color every 5-6 weeks and get it cut every 10-12. Every other color I get a trim. I have hair slightly below my shoulders. It stays very neat and not a style that needs a trim every 6 weeks.

I cut more than I color, but my hair is a short, curly style that needs to be cut every 6 weeks. I get highlights/lowlights every 12 weeks or so. I have noticed people coming in just for color at the salon - no cut.

I color every 4-5 weeks (sometimes longer if I forget to schedule) and only get it cut every second or third time. My hair is fairly long--maybe 4" below my shoulders--so it just doesn't need it. When I had shirt hair I used to get it cut every six weeks (but that was before I needed to color gray roots).

I have to color my hair every 5-6 weeks to cover the grays. I used to always get a cut at the same time and recently realized that it's stupid to pay $80 for a trim that I don't really need. My sister (a stylist) agreed that was totally unnecessary and surprisingly, so did the guy who cuts my hair. When I told him honestly that I just don't want to shell out the cash for a cut every time I color he said that he thought that was fine and that frankly, I didn't need the cut as often as I do the color. Would have been nice if he had said so three years ago!

I get mine cut twice as often as highlighted so usually get a cut at the same time. But last week I just did color. Just tell her that's what you want and make the appt for color only. Normally you need to dry your own hair when you do color only.

Unfortunately, due to my increasing gray hair I have to color my hair about every 6 weeks or so and my hairdresser automatically trims it after the coloring. I never cut my hair every weeks before I had to color (maybe four times a year, if that). The trim costs about 50 dollars extra. If you color your hair, how often do you get it cut?
