Yes, they do. If they show average work, that may speak to the committee.

Good to know, I may just do the questionnaire and be done with it.

Funny enough, my DC came home last night and told me about how his friend is doing a special project this week so he can go to AAP and it's due Friday. Do people actually make their kids create special projects just to turn in with their AAP materials? I guess I shouldn't put anything past people when it comes to getting in.

Test scores and GBRS are what counts.
Other stuff(recommendation, work sample, etc) are useless unless it's really extraordinary work or something.

My kid scored in the 99/98 percentile NNAT/CogAt last year. GBRS 16. I submitted nothing and she got in no problem. If the numbers are high, that matter the most.

I wish they did not have the questionnaire but asked parents to write a maximum of 200 words why they felt their child need the AAP program.

My son got full score for NNAT and 99% in CogAT without any prep. Curious to see what he will get for GBSR....

Well, I'm not gonna lie. As it got closer to the date that we'd be notified about AAP, I started wondering if she didn't get in, would it be because I didn't fill out that little form? I really had a hard time with completing it, though.

Every time I tried to fill out the parent form, I had no clue what to say and felt stupid bragging about our child. I finally just gave up and didn't do anything. I reasoned that if I were on the committee, I would mostly ignore the parent stuff anyway, because what parent isn't going to go out of their way to make their kids look like the smartest kid to ever attend a FFX County school?

She got in with no problem. Hope that helps!
