Most of these school are college preparatory school. I would say being prepared for college would be the goal.

Though some of the mentor programs follow the kids until their 2nd year of college.

Not all "scholarship" kids are minorities. We are Lilly white and have been receiving "financial aid" for years. Some minority kids come from super rich families.
I hope (but pretty much assume) my kids will be a success story. I am a success story (although didn't grow up poor) but I just don't have an extra 98,000 before taxes, so I appreciate the grant that we get.
