After months of doing it every other day we finally conceived by doing it every day starting two days before a + opk, the day of and for two days after.

I don't know about the lying down, hips up thing. I did it last time but want to avoid it this time if possible. It's so embarrassing and to the extent that TTC kills the mood in a marriage I think the legs up ridiculousness really puts the last nail in the coffin....

To be fair to the poster you're quoting I've heard that too. I think it's a getting-closer-to-the-cervix thing or something.

Yeah, Ive heard it too, although it didnt work for us.

OP here - thanks all. I did conceive my first two times on the first try so I'm hoping to get lucky again. I use the smiley face OPK - if it's not positive I guess we'll do it anyway to keep bases covered. I have a very regular 30-31 day cycle so I can't imagine the day after my period ends would result in a baby, but who knows?

Every other day from the day your period ends until a week before it starts, if you have a 28 day cycle.

No need to stay lying down, though it can't hurt.

I've been pregnant twice - one mc and one toddler. This is our first month of TTC #2. Can't believe I'm asking this but it's anonymous so here goes .. Should I stay lying down after sex? hips up? are any positions more conducive than others? Should we do it every day or every other day around O time? I honestly don't remember what happened the first two times! Clearly pregnancy can happen in all kinds of situations but I'd like to up our chances. Thanks!
