But will prospective buyers just think it's crummy, cheap vinyl flooring?

No. It doesn't look cheap. You can clearly see the difference between Marmoleum and vinyl flooring. It's Eco-friendly and comes in gorgeous colors. We had Marmoleum tiles in our kitchen and sold it for over $700K. We installed it our new basement and get compliments all the time.

I used marmoleum in the kitchen of my appartment and I loved it. I am thinking of using it again for the kitchen of my new house. It does not look cheap and it is not cheap either. And you may end up choosing tiles that some buyers will not like, marmoleum is easier and cheaper to change.

No, you are not crazy. It's your house, right??! Linoleum and vinyl products have come a long way. Some of the nicer ones look a lot like tile, but have the advantage of being warmer on your feet, and so easy to clean.

Marmoleum is not low end, and not low price either, especially if you get it installed by someone who knows what they are doing (which I hear is important with this surface.) It's also a natural product I think.

Yes because marmoleum looks really nice. We have it in bathrooms and you are right -- so easy to get super clean and beautiful. It's not like the vinyl linoleum at all.

Vinyl is kind of nasty and off gasses some nastiness in the heat. Get real linoleum or cork which is very easy to clean and is renewable, unlike vinyl which is just a nasty petroleum based byproduct.

Vinyl bad, look for tile that is smoother

We're going to be re-doing our bathrooms and I think I want vinyl linoleum. I hate tile as I just feel like I can never get it clean. Is vinyl just too low-rent for a $500k house? Would we have to replace with something else for resale?
