I like to cook and cook most of the meals because during the week DH gets home after dinner time from work. I thought I was putting home cooked meals on the table but he complained lately they don't seem homecooked enough. He couldn't really elaborate on what exactly that meant. so I was wondering what other people consider a homecooked meal. I am confused, because it didn't come out of a box, the food is mainly whole foods.
I consider anything assembled at home and heated as being "home-cooked." My husband and kids are happy with anything I cook or he brings home. Anybody demanding more should get their butt in the kitchen and make it themselves.

It's not home cooked if the potatoes are boxed and the veggies are the microwave in bag kind. If the chicken came from the grocery store or Sams then it's also a failure.
On the other hand, I'd just be happy if my wife microwaved a tray of food, so I wouldn't complain either way.
As opposed to what, hunting it down and shooting it with my shotgun out yonder on the family farm?
[or did you just mean it's not homemade if you buy one of those rotisserie chickens]?

And I am not judging them either. but at first glance your DH seems like a big douche.
