My kids don't attend Aldrin (middle school and high school age) but we live in the neighborhood. I think I would have been happy to have them attend Aldrin if we'd moved here earlier. In conversations with neighbors about school, kids, life, parents seem extremely happy with Aldrin. Seems to have very strong PTA, lots of extracurriculars, and a mix of backgrounds attending (the district covers mini-mansions to apartments and lots of nice SFHs in between). Also a new principal who is very well-liked.

One thing I noticed from the website is that the 3rd graders did the "wax museum" and my kids did that in 1st grade and 2nd grade at their school (which is not a local level 4 school). The 3rd graders did the exact same people that my kid did in 1st/2nd grade. What's up with that?
What's the deal with 1/2 of the 3rd graders failing their math SOL last year? Yeah, I know the test was different, but that seems really strange to me that 1/3 the grade would fail it? Is there any valid explanation for this?
We are looking to move and Aldrin is the school we'd be assigned to. I want to like it, but I'm just a little concerned about whether it's fumbling around or really has it's act together.

I see that it has local level 4, but the number involved in it is very small... is it just an Adv. Math class or just the third grade? I don't really understand.
