I got frustrated with pricing errors. I rang the 1-800 number and I found out that they give you the first one of that overcharged item free (if less than $5), not just a refund for the overcharged amount. I found that if I ask for this, they will honor the free item policy.

The Safeway Just 4 U program is a mess. There is a mistake just about every time I shop. Some items that are on my list are not discounted. The over the counter personalized discount is not applied in the meat department. It's not worth the hassle waiting for customer service while your frozen items melt. Will be going to Foodland store in Honolulu more often because of this.

I just select the items from the laptop at home and then print out on the printer. It's easier for me to see and my print out is usually 3 pages long with all my deals so it's easy for me to circle and make notes (like "combine with manf. coupon").

OP - what do you mean by "they don't come off at checkout"? The deals just stay on your list. They don't disappear once you've purchased your product. It's annoying, I know, especially with the "one time" deals that don't expire for a few weeks.

Why can't they just give the deals to people with the Safeway card? I don't have a smart phone either, so it is nearly impossible/time-wasting to have to remember everything I signed up to get a deal on and then actually find that item. Safeway doesn't list the price on the shelves of the "Just U" deals...very annoying indeed.

I had lots of problems with it back a few months ago when it first started but lately everything seems to be ringing up right. It takes a little time but I end up getting some really good deals. Love the blanket discount on produce every week! Now I always buy my bananas at Safeway.

I'm also a fan of the Just 4 U program, and haven't had any issues with the coupons being loaded onto my card. It just takes a few minutes on the computer to go through the coupons and load them.

I love Just4U. I saved over 50% on groceries last week ($117) off a total of $220. And I also have not noticed the Safeway prices go up. I actually find them to be better than other stores and their sale prices are considerably better.

I just go online once a week and load up my card with the online coupons - takes 10 mins - and then I buy what I need at the store. I try not to rely on coupons when I am shopping bc I will buy stuff I wouldnt otherwise get, just bc of the coupons, but if I am surprised by a coupon, its a super happy day!

OP here. It is linked to my account because what usually happens is that 1 out of 5 coupons I loaded actually comes off at the register. I tried then going to customer service and showing them my smartphone -- they would grudgingly then give me credit for the other 4 that didn't come off. But keeping track and doing this every single time, just takes way too much time. I guess it is time to switch to Giant...

There is a Safeway within walking distance of our house. Since our previous house was only 2 miles away, I have been shopping at this Safeway for about 20 years. And yet, I'm about done and only shop there now for emergencies (need something last minute). These days, we are exhausted and have no time for anything. Life is more difficult than ever and 2012 was a horrible year for our family. I need shopping that makes things easier, not harder. It's okay to have savings on a club card, I've been a club card member for something like 15 years. But when you at this "Just 2 Screw You" program that makes you look for more coupons to save money and have to look up deals on a computer (I don't have a smart phone, so doing this real time in the store is impossible) and waste more of the time I don't have, I'm sorry, but this is the most ass-backward program I've ever seen. People are busier than ever, so let's create a program that makes them spend more of their most precious commodity, time, in order to get the same prices that they can get at Shopper's.

Thanks, but no thanks. This program was the last straw for me. We now spend about 5% of the what we used to spend at Safeway. We now buy from Wegman's, Shopper's and Giant.

Mine worked as well. Are you sure you clicked on "Add to card" rather than "Add to list?" It's awesome. Eggo waffles for $1.77 and organic spring mix for $3.99!

Loaded coupons a few days ago and it worked out just fine. Seems to be something wrong with the website today. I log in and then my user day displays as guest.

Used mine today. No problem. Maybe your online account isn't linked to your card?

I haven't noticed an increase in prices at all. In fact many times their everyday price has been lowered for things I consistently buy.
