We're on a pretty tight budget (can afford some extras but nothing extravagant) and I choose not to say anything if my DH buys lunch a couple times a week. I get it; it gets him out of the office, gives him a break. $30 or so a week isn't necessarily going to break us, and the benefits to him are enough that I would hate to make a big deal about it.

I drive the gas guzzler to work instead of the clunker. The clunker is lighter on gas, but the lights are not so bright and it has already spun one time. I feel safer in the gas guzzler, has more of a grip on the road

Dinners out at least once a week. The rest of the time we eat quite economically at home, but our family loves to eat out. We have been using more Groupons and such though, to accomplish it.

A monthly house cleaning. It keeps us from just going over the edge into slovenliness.

You do know the JCC will adjust their rates to assist you if need it. One of the great things about the local Js is that they really are community focused and want all people regardless of income to be welcome in the facilities.

Good food.

I cook a lot and insist on good, wholesome, high quality ingredients. We eat very well but rarely (actually never) eat dinner out.

The most expensive produce, meat, cheese etc at the grocery store is still way less than eating out.

Astronomically expensive pet food, made out of certified human-grade ingredients. (we humans eat quality whole foods too, but that can be done on the cheap (beans, in-season produce, etc).

With pets, your options are either 39-cent cans of Walmart Fancy Cancer Feast or $$$.

Nothing; I'm on a tight budget and I have to save money.

For me, its "expensive" face cream - $16/bottle, about once per month.
I consider it a splurge because I buy cheap/generic versions of everything, scrimp, use coupons, buy $2 shampoo etc, so $16 on a tiny tube of cream is a splurge for me!
