I'm looking to move to DC. You folks recommend any good rental areas in Takoma Park?

We are a two mom family in Upper Marboro and have two and three-year-old girls. We'd love to get together. BTW, for all of those who think we're trying to be exclusive, that isn't the case. The other kids have a blast with mine during the day. However, my kids are never invited to any birthday parties and when my kids have parties, nobody shows up. Hmm. We just want to find kids whose parents will let them play with us. Inbox me at myprincessaddison@gmail.com.

There are many such families in Takoma Park. Ask your friends and neighbors if you dont have direct connections. And congratulations! Wishing your family all the best.

Its not because of segregating its because there are issues that other gay parents can relate to and its nice to have people who have experienced or who are experiencing the same thing.

Its no different then adoption playgroups/meetups, specific language speaking playgroups/meetups, etc.

Anyone see the Modern Family episode where Cam and Mitchell clash with the lesbian moms? Pretty funny. Carry on....

Hi OP. We're a 2-dad family with 3 kids under 5 years, and we live in Shepherd Park, just a stone's throw away from Takoma, DC. Maybe if you have a contact email, people can get in touch with you.

I wanted to for the reasons PP said. I want my child (currently 6 mos) to know shes not the only one with 2 mommies.
If you find any OP please let us know. I am in Burtonsville but would come to TP for events.

There are others of us in the Burtonsville area. I know several two mom families in addition to my own

That is so ridiculous. She's not saying that she wants to move to WimminsLand. She's not saying that she is trying to exclude all straight people from her social circle. Consider why minorities often want to have social contacts from their own group: so they are not always the token family, so their kids understand that there are similar families out there, so they have a space to vent/commiserate/support over issues specific to being a minority within a majority culture.

Just throw a rock. You're guaranteed to hit some.

Congratulations. I am sure you can't imagine it yet,but once the baby is here, you become your baby's mom and the gay part of your identity takes a backseat and probably won't matter much when it comes to finding mom friends. Signed, Mom of three who isn't sure that people even remember I'm gay.

My partner and I are becoming parents this month, and are looking to meet other gay parents. I was wondering if there are any other gay and lesbian parents in Takoma Park that would like to get together semi-regularly for coffee, baby-walk adventures, etc.

Anyone interested?
