They gave our dog too many vaccines at once when she was already down with something, and we only approved one of them. We feel sure this lead to some serious complications that followed. I will never go back there.

If it gets serious please take him or her to Southpaws. Our dog had to stay in their ICU for 3 nights recently and we were SO impressed - both with that stay and the follow-up care we've received. Friendship Animal Hospital was horrible and actually part of our dogs problem - do not go there!

Sothpaws is really good. I think its technically herndon. There is also one on rt 50 after 495 which is really good. Sadly I have been er vet several times. OP hope you bugger is feeling better!

LOL! We found Friendship recommended a lot of diagnostic tests without explaining that, when the results came in, they wouldn't provide much useful information. For example, we paid $1000 for a biopsy and later found out this biopsy only addressed one small issue, unrelated to whatever it was that ultimately killed the cat. Friendship was never able to diagnose what the problem really was.

A friend of ours said that Friendship was really sympathetic when her cat died, however.

Friendship sucks, plus they wouldn't treat our dog unless we paid their estimated bill in full. Once we did, they kept calling to get permission to do unnecessary testing. A complete rip-off.

+1 for VCA VRA in Gaithersburg. More recently (but farther for you) we have had excellent experience at Southpaws in Fairfax. If you need an internist and can drive, we love Dr Gieg.

I am also one of the pet owners who despise Friendship...that place is just awful. Several misdiagnoses and only went there because they are so close and when had serious emergencies to get pup stable to go to a proper vet.

Watching our lab now, but may need to take her in tonight. We've taken her to the one in Friendship Heights before, but haven't been impressed. Montgomery County or NW DC. Anyone have a recommendation?
